Winter is a digital agency offering web, system and app development solutions as well as branding, design and campaign work. We are a small but tight-knit team made up of developers, designers, strategists and project managers with a passion for state of the art tech and innovative approaches to common problems. At Winter, we like a challenge. This pushes us to grow alongside our clients and look for solutions in unexpected places. In short: we want to make the web a better place! Industry trends and innovations are essential to us – but more importantly, we want to create products that’ll stand the test of time.

Our stack? Always up-top-date

We work with multiple tech stacks that allow us to build tailored solutions that will fit all of our clients’ needs. Our go-to CMS platform for custom sites is Sanity, integrated with Shopify for e-commerce projects. We are using a fully headless stack with Next.js (React) for all of our new projects, increasing performance and security. We pair this with Tailwind for styling and a set of React component libraries that guarantee full accessibility.

For API development, we’re all about serverless! When not utilizing Next.js’s built-in edge functions, we work mainly with Google Cloud’s Firebase products, such as Firestore, Cloud Storage and Cloud Functions. Additionally, we have some projects running on AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB as well as Cloudflare Workers. We specialize in building internal tools that help businesses increase their productivity, and the interfaces for these are all built using Angular or, more recently, Next.js.

When it comes to Android and iOS apps, Flutter, Google’s framework built around the Dart language, is our tool of choice to build cross-platform apps with native-like performance.

Fostering an empowering work environment

One of the best things about working at Winter is the huge variety in projects. We make sure that everyone feels valued and encourage each of our team members to grow and evolve within (or outside) of their respective field. You’ll be working on both retainers as well as regular projects and take on responsibilities much earlier than at your typical large-scale company – we don’t believe in rigid structures or hierarchies and instead want to empower our team members to tackle challenges head-on and as freely as possible utilising their strengths and talents.
