How you'll live
We want you to be able to fully focus on recharging and preparing for the Piscine, which is why accommodation is taken care of and completely free of charge. You’ll be sharing a room with one other grit:lab student at the Strandnäs Hotel, located just 1 km from the grit:lab campus. You’ll need to cover travel and personal expenses (such as groceries and insurances). On campus, you’ll be using one of our brand new iMacs so you won’t need to bring your own laptop or gear.View on map

Travel to Åland
The Åland Islands are located in the middle of the Baltic Sea, midway between Stockholm and Helsinki. There are daily connections to Åland from Finland and Sweden and you can choose to travel by ferry or by plane. You can fly from Vantaa Airport in Helsinki or Arlanda in Sweden – these are the fastest routes to Åland and take around half an hour. The shortest ferry connection from Sweden is the one from Grisslehamn with Eckerö Linjen or from Kapellskär with Viking Line. Both ferries take two hours.
Åland: inspiring, challenging, gorgeous.
Let yourself be swept away by the stunning nature and powerfully wild seascapes surrounding Åland that have inspired many an artist’s work. During the Piscine, you’ll explore Åland and participate in exciting, hand-picked activities on the regular.
